Now that the weather's changed, it's a fantastic time to visit Angel Island. This was my first time going so early in the year, and there was a ton of growth from the winter rains.
I went with a group of 7 folks, some old friends and some new friends, but I followed the same path as before. We went up the stairs near the dock to get to the North Ridge trail, and followed that to the top.
After an outstanding view of the entire bay from the top, we then made our way down to the Sunset Trail where we lapped the island, saw firsthand how the island transitions from wind-swept bushes to a lush forest depending on which side you're on, and even saw some Death Cap mushrooms and the remains of what looked like a small dog. Nature is still out there.
